Rep Teams

The REP program in Basketball Club Troyka is affiliated with the Ontario Basketball Association (O.B.A.).

Rep program provides an opportunity for qualified players to play at a higher level with the players of similar abilities in their age group. The Rep Teams play with other O.B.A. affiliated clubs and may play in several tournaments, including the Provincial Championships hosted by Ontario Basketball. The season runs from October to April or May.

Basketball Club Troyka provides opportunities for all players to try out for our Rep Teams for their age group. The players are selected through a series of open tryouts in September. (Please monitor our site for dates and location.)

If chosen, players at the Rep Teams should be serious about playing at a competitive level and must demonstrate strong commitment. The focus of the rep program will be on the individual’s skills and the team development.

During the season, the Rep Team’s practices will be held at least twice a week. Each team will participate in the games and/or the tournaments on weekends. Many of these games/tournament(s) will be out of town.

The commitment and expectations will differ from division to division for the specific age group.

Furthermore, the parents of rep players require greater financial commitment and time.

Basketball Club Troyka doesn’t discourage players to join in other sports playing in the rep teams, but the rep team’s players will make the appropriate commitment needed for the benefit of their development and the players in their basketball rep team for the entire season.
